It is with great pleasure that Connelly & Koshy Professional Corporation announce the admission of Mr.Brent Percival CPA, CA, CFP, to the partnership effective September 30, 2019. ln this connection, it is fitting and proper to provide a brief comment on Brent's professional qualifications, experience and related accomplishments.

Brent qualified as a CA in 2005 and as a Certified Financial Planner (CFP) in 2009.  He also has completed the CICA ln-depth tax courses, level I & II, and this was followed by completion of the advanced level III programme.  He also has two university degrees, Bachelor of Science and Master of Professional Accounting.  Brent started his public accounting career in 2003 in a medium-sized accounting firm in Vancouver and, after receiving his CA designation, moved on to an international accounting firm in 2007.  Brent then left to join CRA in 2009 and worked there until 2013 as a senior technical officer. While at CRA, he also had close encounters with the Tax Legislation Group at the Department of Finance. For a brief period, Brent was involved in reviewing the articles submitted for publication in 'Canadian Tax Focus', a publication of Canadian Tax Foundation.  Since 2007, Brent has been practising in tax and related areas. He is also currently enrolled in a programme that will lead to the TEP designation.  Brent left CRA in 2013 to join Mr. Brian Mingie to form the partnership of Mingie, Percival & Associates which merged with Connelly and Koshy in October 2016.

Upon his admission to partnership, Brent will be the head of the 'tax group' and will be responsible for all aspects of the Income Tax practice of the firm and will also coordinate Excise Tax matters with FarrasGhani, our in-house GST/HST expert.
